The third in our series of Web events in which we invite academics and business people to talk about their work with improving sustainability took place via Zoom on 26 May 2021 at 1pm. Taking part were:
Adam Banks; Director at CF Banks Ltd, founder of Instar Farming.
Adam will be talking about the set up and running of his insect farm in Lincolnshire. The “Insect Alternative” is a viable option, as insects are much more efficient at producing protein than say cows or chickens, but there are technical issues as well trying to get over the “Yuck” factor, which is apparently a scientific term!.
Martin De La Harpe; De La Harpe and Co.
Martin will be talking through his activities as a sustainability consultant and provide an update on a project in Kenya producing Black soldier fly larvae to produce food for livestock fish etc.
