The LAMMA2019 Agricultural Machinery Show was a fantastic success, with some great prizes going to the innovation award winners. If you have followed LAMMA over the years you will have noticed that the awards for 2019 were restructured and the silver cups that used to be presented have been replaced with rather grand glass plaques. The names of the awards have also changed, and whilst we believe that change and progress are important, we also believe that the cups have a lot of history and provenance associated with them.

The LOVEN cup, for example, was awarded every year from 1998-2018 for the “Best Product or Innovation – Mechanical – Crop Production, with a retail price of more than £5,000,” (increased to £10,000 in 2012). We at LOVEN Patents & Trademarks have therefore decided to continue to award the LOVEN Cup every year (separate to the LAMMA show) for what we believe to be the most outstanding innovation in the agricultural sector. This is departing slightly from the best crop production equipment that the cup is known for, but we feel that it is important to recognise all aspects of agriculture.

The Cup will be awarded every year. There will be no requirement to enter for the award, as we will compile a list of contenders throughout the year and judge them internally. The Cup will be presented in November each year, and details of the winner, and a description of their innovation published on our website. We will also present the cup in person along with a prize. So watch this space. We could be coming to see you in November. And we look forward to hearing about all your innovations over the coming year.
