We are pleased to report that there was a good level of interest in our Sustainability Forum, with 59 attendees and may more expressions of interest.

“Sustainability” is undoubtedly the word for 2021, and whilst the current Covid pandemic has reduced carbon emissions to their lowest level since 1945, businesses are making the protection of the Earth their main focus. Companies are changing the way they do things in every aspect from fuel consumption, overheads, packaging and environmental impact.
Taking part in the Forum were:
George Mikurcik, Senior Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer from Architype an architectural practice focusing on beautiful design that works for people and planet. George explained how they create ecological design, including Passivhaus and zero carbon buildings.
Jerome and Katy Smith, owners of Sarsfield’s Chocolaterie. Jerome and Katie talked about how to effectively incorporate sustainability into development of their chocolate brand, by not only building a unique zero carbon workshop/factory, but in hi method of sourcing cocoa.
Andrew Stacey, owner of Avgo Biotech. Andrew is an entrepreneur and food waste upcycling expert. He explained about obtaining pharmaceutical grade Calcium Carbonate from Food Industry Co-Products, and how other waste materials can be usefully reprocessed.
